I've not paid for it, but as a volunteer diver I get to dive regularly at an aquarium. From that perspective...
Diving in an aquarium is cheaper than taking a trip, so it might be a nice idea in the cold winter.
You will get to dive with things you may otherwise never get to, so the experience of seeing a cool animal might be worth the price of admission.
Give it a shot, even if you hate it, it is worth doing once to see.
The animals in the aquarium are not shy typically, so if there is a species you really dig, you will have a better chance of getting close to it in aquraium rather than in the wild.
You will get to show off for friends and family, which is always cool.
