Aqualung has recalled the second stage diaphram on the LX and LX Supreme. Here is what they say:

Taken from Aqualung's Website

Special Notice to all Owners of Titan LX and Titan LX
Supreme Regulators

Our records indicate that you recently purchased a Titan LX or Titan LX Supreme Regulator. If you
own this model of regulator, please read on. If you no longer own or have never owned this model of
regulator, please disregard this notice.

Background
Aqua Lung has determined that it is possible, although rare, for a small vacuum to form between the
inhalation diaphragm and the underside of the soft, rubber purge cover. Such a vacuum would result
in making it very hard to inhale on the regulator. This situation has only occurred after the regulator
has been manually purged underwater.

Action
Aqua Lung is requesting that all Titan LX and Titan LX Supreme regulators be brought into your
local authorized Aqua Lung Dealer to change out the second stage inhalation diaphragm. The retrofit
diaphragm has been modified to prevent such a vacuum from forming. The replacement procedure is
quick and in most cases can be done while you wait. The procedure is non-invasive and will not alter
the performance or the adjustments of the regulator in any way.

Should you need assistance in finding an authorized dealer near you, we invite you to visit us at
http://www.aqualung.com

Aqua Lung apologizes for any inconvenience that this may cause you. Your safety is our top priority.
Thank you for your understanding and thank you for choosing Aqua Lung.

Thanks Warhammer, my friend and I recently bought Titan LX setups. They work great and I am very pleased with them. Will get this done ASAP.

Anyone know if there is any way to tell whether this retrofit has been performed? I am buying a Titan LX and would like to check that it has the new diaphragm.

Zept,

I am part of the slave-labor for a LDS in Melbourne, FL. This dive shop stocks Aqua-Lung Regs. and sells quite a few Titan LX's. The Titan LX's that have received the upgraded retro-fit comes in a box that has a yellow dot on the side.

I hope this helps. :D

Thanks Ed.

My dealer says he marks the box with a red checkmark when he does the retrofit. I guess I just have to trust him -- he did seem familiar with the problem and I don't think he wants to kill me. Yet.
