Hi,
I am hoping to get some advice about a bcd I bought from eBay. I have been using my aqua lung zuma for years and love it. It’s still working wonderfully but I wanted to buy another. It is no longer manufactured but I found some on eBay- new. They were advertised as Aqua Lung Zuma, but when they arrived the lizard looked slightly different and it says Zuma Pro, instead of just Zuma.

I can’t find much about Zuma pro on the internet. I wanted to ensure it was not a counterfeit.

Any experience or input appreciated.

I believe they were only offered to dive instructors, and not offered to the public. Others will have more knowledge about them than I do.

Come on man I'd wanna be divin a Dragon, not just a lizard

If it's a scuba gear you want to buy ScubaBoard it's a not a far away at a Nort a Melbon and a Footascray

The current product that is most equivalent with some improvements is the Rogue. My wife had a Zuma, it was okay considering the lightweight and packability. The main flaw was securing the inflator hose and fragile single envelope. I think the Pro is a heavier duty envelope. The new Rogue has an outer (Lycra) skin. The Scubapro Litehawk is also very similar, a bit more heavy duty and thus slightly heavier than the Zuma.

First ZUMA models with the silver one piece bladder had a thicker bladder model offered to instructors / divemasters through dealer key man programs. That's what your ZUMA PRO is. I had one for years, sold it and now have the "standard discontinued" BLACK ZUMA thick bladder BCD.

Well over 500+ dives on this one.....Packs small, dives easily....That ZUMA was replaced by one with metal d-rings (big deal, NOT) as a BLACK and ugly ORANGE model. It was called the Aqualung PRO Compact I think. I think it's already discontinued but still can be found. The Rogue and other models supposedly filled this sport back mounted BCD choice. I think those are heavier so a no go for me.....

Two friends of many who still dive a ZUMA in all versions succeeded in punching a couple teeny holes in the lower bladder. They fixed it with a super heavy duty glue (Aquaseal on steroids) they found on Amazon I think.

For single tank diving to 130' or above I haven't found anything I like better. It is super streamlined, get your weight right and it's like wearing nothing.

I do wish it had upper shoulder blade trim pockets like the previous Aqualung Balance and other models. I've solved that with a simple tank band I thread 4 - 6 lbs in two weights so I don't have too much in the waist pockets. Only needed that with a thick 5mm suit which I sold so only warm water diving in a 2.5mm or .5mm wet suit.

Dive what you want but your ZUMA PRO is a fine lightweight BCD.......

Who needs a stinking BCD when you can use a bicycle tire! LOL.......

I have not dived the Rogue but I met a fellow who had one. He was a big fellow. But the Rogue looked tiny, it is very compact and if the weight is much more than the Zuma Pro I would be surprised. I was impressed with it and if I were not a Hogarthian wing/BP person I might snap one up. Thing is, my vdh 18# wing and Oxy textile travel plate packs nearly as compact as did my wife's Zuma and it is in the same weight class at about 5 pounds fully outfitted with pockets and ss D-rings. And much, much more rugged.

Aqua Seal is good stuff to have around, just saying :).
