The best setting for the VAK (Valve adjustment Knob)

"set it to stun" ....great one!

You mean that knob with the + and the - on it?

That's a venturi adjust. When set to the + position it will freeflow fairly easily by, for example, bumping it, when it isn't in your mouth (like before the dive). On the - side it isn't as prone to freeflowing so before you get in the water set it to - to keep it from free flowing and then set it to + when you descend. If you forget and leave it set to - when you go down don't worry. It still works just fine but not *quite* as sweet as in the + position.

in theory.....

In practice I leave mine set to + and be careful with it.

Thanks for the help but I know about the Vane Adjustment Switch (VAS) you mentioned.

What I have trouble with is the VAK (Valve Adjustment Knob) The knob on the side. I beleive some people refer to it as a "Fine Tuner"

Thanks again!

oh that.

You just turn that bit to adjust the cracking pressure. When you go deeper you may find that you can open it a bit more. When you have a current in your face you may need to close it a bit. I was told that when it's adjusted right your reg will give a little hissing sound when it's wide open but in no other position. How open or closed you hvae it is up to you. Mine is in the middle somewhere and I usually don't use it.

That's exactally the info I was talking about...Thank You! I have it in the middle as well but I wanted to learn more about the fine tunning. I'll play with it a little next time I dive.
