While on a dive vacation in Hawaii I won a new AL Zuma which included the Air Source 3. I took it along on a recent Caribbean trip and tried it out. The problem I encountered is that the AS 3 corrugated hose seems to be about 2 inches too long to comfortably hold in my mouth when turning my head to the left. Some users claim that bc air can be purged by pulling on the hose, but I found this to be difficult at best unless I turn my head to the far right. I wonder if AL sells a shorter hose from the bc to the Air 3 connector. That might partially solve the problem. With the current configuation it’s not a comfortable set up. Any thoughts? BTW, I do not not intend to abandon my octo reg.

You don't dive with the Air Source, you ascend with it while your buddy is on your primary. So what is that, a few minutes at most? And you don't pull on the end of it to exhaust air from the corugated hose shoulder dump, you pull down on the bump in the middle of the hose.
Thank you for educating me on the function of the Air Source 2, which I am very familiar with including its intended use. However, you missed the point of my question. When turning one’s head to the left, the mouthpiece is very difficult to hold in place. Yes, perhaps only necessary for a few minutes, however the Scubapro Air 2, 5th generation doesn't present this problem, as a result the Scubapro is much more “user friendly”. And again, I didnt purchase this set up, I won it a diving contest in Maui.

For the minimal amount of time you will be breathing off the thing just release the Velcro retainer strap on your left shoulder and the tension on the inflator hose will be relieved. This may provide the comfort you are after. Congrats on the free gear.
Sell it, I used one in a rescue class and it breathes horribly wet and it is very uncomfortable. I sold mine the next week.
