Hey All - I'm heading down to Roatan on April 18th and staying at Infinity Bay. I have not been down there in the spring. Is there a chance of seeing whale sharks or anything else unique?

Absolutely,
there is a CHANCE of seeing whale sharls, even a CHANCE of seeing whales, mantas, giantsquid, megamouth sharks and more, Of course its a very very slight chance but not totally impossible

..... or anything else unique?

There is a chance, yes.

On Roatan, more than in most Caribbean places, it depends upon what you can and are ready to see.

It's always there, it's up to us to see it and recognize it.

Sometimes it waves at you, sometimes not.

cool, I am excited. do you recommend taking a trip to Utila for better luck?

I would not do it just with the hopes of seeing whale sharks, If there is other parts that intrigue you then go for it. If you lose dives for trvel with the hopes of seing the big guys and you don't see any, how dissapointd will you be? I have always done my dives enjoying the small stuff that can always be found and if the big stuff happens I will see it as well, of course I may not have the right lens on my camera but I try not to do any dive epecting anything

I don't know much about the diving in Utila but I'm sure I can get someone to take us for a day trip that involves diving. I won't be disappointed if I don't see whale sharks. My sister might be though, she goes nuts for those and seahorses. I have never seen a whale shark so it would be really cool. Thanks for the info
