I just don't log dives
Well the winds looked ok,Marine forcast called for 1'-2' and well with the boat ready Jim And I launched out of Portwashington Wi, lake was ok with a few large swell's and Jim called the Niagara,we hooked into her one pass, geared up and droped down the line from the get go I new the vis was not going to be great,as I got down to the wreck I thought I had 10'-15' vis and nope wam I was on the wreck! 1' - 3' vis, temp on Jims rig was a balmy 39deg at 55fsw,
I shot some video mostly not too much,, some of her keel ribs and called the dive!
The winds have realy mixed things up and sure if the winds hold the deeper sites should clear up.

I don't know Brad, but the viz looks a lot better than my last dive on the Tacoma! :-) Well, I dive a quarry tomorrow, and hope things will look good on the Willy next week! Good to see that your video project is well on its way!

Road trip Florida for this cowboy,

Ooh, Pick me up on the way!

At least you're wet, now the season gets underway...:D

A poor viz day on the Niagara is about twenty feet. I've seen it as much as a hundred. I think Brad and I jinxed it yesterday as he had a video rig and I had my new digital I wanted to try out. The attached photo's were taken last year with my Nikonos II rig under a little better circumstances.

That last shot of the Niagaras boilers is sweet! I have not seen before, I have to say the first time I ran the line out to them and from the gloom came the boilers, two stories tall! That impression will never leave my mind nice photo Jim.

The vis on that site last year was 40' to the end of the year when it was top to bottom as you could see the divers top side on the wreck! This is a great link for info on the wreck, check out this great site on diving info, wreck sites, videos, locations.
Dive safe,
Brad

Thanks guys good pictures and website. I guess it is time to get a drysuit!

Steven

Hey Steven,
A dry suit is not a must have but if you get hooked on this diving thing it is nice to have! as it makes your dives more fun, more BT,and the season can be much, much longer.
But I love to dive wet and do as the season warms so dose the lake the wrecks near shore can be dove wet,the deeper sites tend to be dry suit dives due to water temps stay low but can be done wet and been with divers that do thease dives wet.
So if you ever get over to the big pond sometime hit us up we may get you out on a wreck or two!
Brad

thanks Jim and Brad you guys are a great resource for diving on the Wisconsin side of the big pond. It would be really cool to dive with you guys.
