Now, it starts to be interesting. I would trade my Mk2 for this one if it really does the job. I don’t do tech diving anyway.

But totally agree with you. Given the ambient pressure sensor is open to devs, I would expect to see apps that aren't subscription based. Paging Shearwater!

Sorry I was not paying attention. Is the subscription model needed to get the dive computer to work? Or is it just a dive log storage facility?
If it is required to enable the dive computer to function, what happens if you forget to re-up the subscription until your LOB is way out of internet coverage?
If it is just a dive log storage feature then who really cares? I assume the watch should be capable of storing details of several hundred dives? And then downloading to subsurface...
