They finally gave in and replaced the watch. BUT new one failed after first dive at surface. Going to try and charge it in a day to see what happens. Very disappointing. My Suunto has been working for 15 years. Guess always going to have it with me for backup.
Interesting. They're just not ultra enough for diving. Only we are.

That is indeed very surprising and disappointing. Though my Tissot watch is marked for 100m and barely survived a few dozen dives to 20-30m.

My AWU has been on over 200 dives. No issues watchsoever!

“A large Apple shareholder” would not be whining on SB about this. Just saying. 😝

My wife tried using the Apple Watch for diving. And she had bad luck twice. One watch failed in the shower. It had her at 60’ and then locked her out for a too fast ascent and failing to do a safety stop.

I have an Apple Watch that I use for diving and it has been very reliable. But I do not use it as my primary dive computer.

A friend of mine had an AWU2 and paid the annual Oceanic+ licence. After a few dives it went out.
The Apple support said that water damage is not covered.

I genuinely feel for the OP and their situation. I would think that Apple would at least start with warranty coverage unless they found physical damage. The pressure sensor is limited to 140 feet, but the device itself is rated to 330 feet.

Just to provide a counterpoint: I've had my original AWU since it was first released. I've used it on over 100 dives including the great blue hole down to 135 feet. In all this time I had only one issue with the first version of Oceanic+ freezing up on me during a dive. Other than that it has worked flawlessly on every dive.

Mares is apparently working on an App for the AWU now. I got an email recently looking for beta testers (Nope, didn't apply since I don't have an AWU).

Having used the SSI app on my phone, I wouldn't go anywhere near Mares software

Mares and SSI are both part of Head, and recently AquaLung is also part of the same holding.
