Hi!

I just back from South Visayan of Phillipine.
I did two dives in Apo Island.
But I lived on boat, and not get on the that island,
so I really don't know the situation of the resort on that island.
Due to Apo Island is a really small island that take you about 1 hour less to walk around,
So you may not expect too much for the resort.

Dive there is good, especially you like crownfish.
There's place in this island, that called Sanctuary,
full of hundreds of crownfish, even called Crownfish City.
And outside the deeper parts with school of Jackfish.
If you like a quiet place to relax, this will be a good place.

Or you want to live in Dumaguete,
oppesite to Aop Island, there's a good resort call "Atlantic Dive Resort".
We just went there for some ice cream.
The resort is beautiful, you may check their website http://www.Atlantishotel.com to make sure if this serve your prupose.
Hope you have good dive.

I spent 3 days at Liberty's Resort on Apo in November of 2001. At the time Paul was busy expanding the place, so it may be better than when I was there. The water collected in cisterns, bathing is done with a ladle. Electricity was available for 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening. The older bamboo rooms over the canteen had a lot of character and great view, but the newer concrete room offered more creature comforts. Compared to the Moalboal area, the diving was definitly better. The marine park protection effects are clearly visible, much more larger fish. I have a trip report about the Visaya region at:
