Hi, I’m getting my first regulator set and I am leaning towards either Apeks XL4 + or Aqualung Helix compact pro. I will be diving UK waters so need a suitable cold water reg but will also travel to dive in the med at least once a year. I also have a bit of jaw issue so was recommended to get a lighter 2nd stage. Can you advise which would be better, Apeks seems to have good cold water reviews but I like the idea of the auto closure on the aqualung. Does anyone have any advice on these or a suitable alternative?

I use the Apeks XL4. I dive in Minnesota, in waters that can be as low as 3- 5C, and also travel extensively with it to Asia and Caribbean. Have not had any issues with it, even did ice diving without issues.
I highly recommend it

Thanks NatOver, yeah, the Apeks definitely seems to be the more reliable in cold water
