Hi I have a wtx4 that I use for doubles, tank bands with this wing/Apeks bp. I use this kit in cold water. I have been using a Zeagle bc in warm water just because thats what I started diving with.
I bought the wtx3 wing to start diving warm water singles. I put the kit together and the systems seems tight enough without an sta.
Can I get some first hand feedback whether or not I will need the sta once it gets wet. I havent had time to put it in water since getting the wing a month ago. So I am wondering whether I will need to buy one once I land on Coz Jan 31.
Thanks for the help. kevin

Kevin,

I dove the WTX3 with the Apeks harness with the SS plate sandwiched inside and bolted down. I bolted it down and didn't use any STA and it was very stable.

Solid construction, Apeks is just robust equipment, if it works for the Brits, count me in. :)

Hey Kev,
I have a WTX 3 and BP. In my opinion you probably will be ok with aluminum tanks, if you use big steels (120-130) you will definitely want to get an STA.

Thanks lads.
Owen I'm coming out your way for a dip after I get back from Coz in March. Got a new drysuit to break in.:D

Have fun...keep in touch.

I dive an LP 121 with my Apeks WTX3... no STA needed...

I used a WTX3 with a DR SS backplate and dive HP 120's with NO STA and I've never had a problem.
If I added a STA, I'd be waaaay overweighted vs the slight overweighting issues I have now.
