anyone ever use an TX50 DS4 and if so what did you think of it??

I have the TX-50 second stage and the DST first stage. It has the exact same performance specs as the DS4 first stage but it swivels and one of the LP ports is 1/2 inch while the DS4 has all 3/8 inch ports. I like it fine. I also have an ATX40 second stage backup. To be honest I actually like the TX-50 second stage a little better than the ATX 40 second stage because it has better bubble dispersion with the wider exhaust tee. The reg breathes pretty nice. I've had it down to over a hundred feet in 40 degree water and it's performed real well for me. I'm sure you'd be happy with a TX-50/DS4. It's a hard reg to beat at the price they are going for.:)

I have a couple of them and have had very good results from both. Aside from an occasional tendency to honk at the start of a dive, the DS4's have never caused any problems. The TX50's are sometimes a little wet in seriously out of trim positions, but they won't drown you. I use the TX50's as alternate sources and have TX100's as primaries on most of my setups, using both DS4 and TX100 first stages.

Hope this helps...

Steven

I too have the DST 1st with the TX50. Other than a swivel, there is no difference. It's a great reg. The second stage is a little big, but the exhaust works really well.

I switched the 2nd stage to an ATX50 for the smaller size. More bubbles in the face while teaching.

I've also got an ATX200. Now this is a sweet reg. My wife won't give it back.
