I just purchesed a xtx200 reg. LDS is pushing the Egress octo because that is all they stock in Apeks octo's I think. Searched on board and did not see much in terms of the egress octo or any Apeks brand octo's. Not to sure if I should go with the hockey puck egreess or ask him to order me a xtx40/50 octo.

Any advice would be appreicated.

I've got three Apeks regs, two with an ATX40 octo, and one with the Egress. I use the one with the Egress as my main reg for all my trips and it is an excellent little unit. It is compact, works either way up so no probs on donating to an OOA diver, and it breathes very well – I've swapped over to it at 50m plus and it breathed nearly as well as my ATX200 Black Pearl.

Got over 600 dives on it now in all manner of conditions and it has never left me down.

The ATX40 octos are great as well, just more chunky and, as I travel a lot, I prefer the Egress for its size and weight.

What sort of Diving do you do? If you are into more technical diving then a XTX 50 or 40 is the only answer. If you're strictly a recreational diver then get the egress, it breathes well enough for its intended purpose.
