Thanks for the suggestions but have already passed on those.

The kronos is not a true side exhaust... it just deflects off to the side and reviews aren't that great.

Mistral is a double hose reg so definitely not for me.

Poseidon makes great regs and I almost bought one around 12 years ago.... but the mouthpiece that I use won't fit on it and getting the serviced is not as easy as the ones the ones I'm looking at.

Pretty much all my diving is outside the US so I need to factor that in as well... even though I have never had a reg issue in 21 years of diving, you just can never be too careful

After doing more research have decided the flight is not the reg for me! I'm getting closer to narrowing it down between the aqualung legend, apeks xtx100 pr 50 and atomic b2 or z2x.

If I go with the atomics I am going to check into adding the M1 exhaust...

......among my fleet of regs, I've installed the M1 exhaust-T on my 2 Atomics......and also have installed OEM extended exhaust T's on my 2 Apex XTX 200's......the M1 'T' will fit any model Atomic...the Apex ones, of course, only fit the Apeks regs.....the Apex ones came 'free' when I bought the regs as the manufacturer includes both a short 'T' and an extended 'T' with the 200's......they all work GREAT!

I don't know if the Aqualung regs have an extended exhaust T option.....the 2nd-stages bodies are different between the 2 brands so don't assume an Apeks 'T' will work on an Aqualung reg.

Easiest way to find that out is to ask at my lds since they carry all the regs I'm looking at. :)

thanks!

....well, either do that, or we could assign The Pink Panther to the case and find out that way.....:)

I am just going to change the hoses to miflex to match the flight. I have heard that you need an adapter for the hollis if you were to do that.

As long as you buy the non swivel version of the Hollis reg, you can use any standard hose you want.

hi,
would be a good idea to put down the type of diving and requirements you seek in a reg set. flights are perfect for travel and use in warm waters. WOB is 0.75. not as smooth as their XTX range, but a very decent WOB. the WOB of the 212 are 0.68. from the grapth they seem to be a smoother breather. if any of your mates have an oceanic EOS, that would be worth a try as it is similair to the 212.

interms of quality, i trust a uk reg more then a taiwanese reg.

Hollis Regs are manufactured in the USA. Not to say taiwan doesnt provide some decent regulators; as seen by several other companies. But having full control over the workplace and materials ensures a quality product.:D
