1. That picture is a SP 1st stage.
2. The HP port in FSR has better routing because it is in an inclined angle pointing downward.
3. XTX-number can mean a set 1st + 2nd(one only) or just the 2nd stage. While FSR is the name for the 1st stage only. You need to confirm that from the seller.

FSR + XTX50 should be slightly cheaper. The moving part is the same between 50 and 200, the difference is minimal.

Both regulators are very good and based on a very similar design. I have dived both.

FSR looks better to me and has a marginally better hose routing for single backmount (no need for 5th port) and double backmount (with 5th port).

DST is better for sidemount and stages because of rotating turret (you should get a 5th port for that use).

Depending on your long term diving goals one may be slightly better than the other but none will be bad. I would get a 5th port.

1. yeah but it would be the same process with a FSR wouldn't be ?
3. I know.. i asked him but he didn't know , i just hope it was just about the 2nd stage lol

Actually there is big promotion with kits compared to take 1st/2nd stage seperatly , like price of 1st stage is almost price of kit (632€ for XTX200+ XTX40 + Tempered glass spg without plastic protection)

thx. For now i'm single , later i'll go doubles . I don't think SM and about stages, when i'll be qualified, i think i'll start with renting tanks so it won't be my regulators, especially during worldwide trips :)

But in this configuration, do you have to turn it like that ? I mean why not using the same configuration but keep it straight, 5th port pointing down?
The tank (and wing) is in the way, and that hose (as well as the HP/SPG hose) is headed toward your side anyway. Whatever works for you, really.

That's what i thought but wasn't sure, thanks for that confirmation . So 5th port with 1st stage in normal straight position ain't really an option just to "gain" (or not?) few degrees angle on that long hose

Angling the 1st stage makes for a straight hose (i.e., better). I suspect it'll make more sense when you get "hands-on".

Thanks guys, i think i'll go for the FSR !
Only thing, one seller told that the XTX200 is no longer on his software to buy and they are going to stop its production. I hope he only talks about 2nd stage , not the first if later i need a second FSR for doubles lol.
Aqualung is being sold to HEAD, so we don't know what the future holds. If the dive shop cannot order it then that is a bad sign.

As another poster pointed out, if you go tech you will need multiple regulators. It is best to standardize on one type of regulator for easier servicing.

The dive shop told me that one was stopped because some materials were expensive; But yes we'll see. I just bought anyway the XTX200 + XTX40 kit :) can't wait to test it
