Looking to get new regs and I cannot decide between these two. Currently diving an Apeks DST 1st and ATX50 seconds and have also dove the XTX50's (no real difference from the ATX to the XTX if you ask me) I have no experience with the Scubapro reg and thats why Im asking. If there is anyone out there that has dove these two regs side by side any input would help. My local dive shop is both a Scubapro and Apeks dealer so service and support isnt an issue. I wish I could find someone that dove the scubapro G250v but most people here dive Apeks, Atomic, Sherwood so I havent had a chance to dive one and compare myself. I dive mainly cold... deep.. fresh water quarries here in Ohio. Dove a DR Hurricane last week and wasnt overly impressed so that choice is off the board along with any sherwood product. Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Your both options are great performing regs, so you may select any of them and be happy.

I would chose Scubapro over Apeks for a single reason: even if both Scubapro and Aqualung (the owner of Apeks) have worldwide support networks, not all Aqualung service shops service Apeks equipment; but all Scubapro service shops will service Scubapro.

I dont really travel that much but you bring up a good point... There are alot of Aqualung dealers around but only one here in town services Apeks and sells Apeks. And on the few times that I have traveled it seemes as though Scubapro and Sherwood were the most common along with Oceanic. I guess it would be nice to know that your gear could be serviced of fixed if there was a scubapro dealer around, thanks for your thoughts

question are they balanced and have a diaphragm
