Did my AOW class through Pacific Wilderness based in San Pedro. Instructor was Josh Sprinkle. He was really cool. I highly recommend him.

All dives were done at Shaws Cove, but I think that was mostly because of the weather. Original plan was to do it all at Veterans Park, but it got moved last minute.

The thing I liked the most was that it wasnt a rigid schedule. Josh just did a group text the day before to find out what everyone wanted to do. Then based on the responses, he put the dives together for us. He really made the process simple and fun. I'm definitely planning to go back to him for my Rescue certification.

Glad you had a good experience. :)

I think that getting an instructor that you "click" with is very important and once you have found that instructor, it is well worth keeping that learning relationship going. An instructor can have all the information but if he can't put it out in a format that sticks in your head, then you have little chance of retaining it long term.

I'm glad you had a good experience. I'm jealous. My AOW was unimpressive. Once again, probably my own fault.

I'm already planning to do better next time. NetDoc and Elana are are teaching my son OW, and me Self-Reliant. Can't wait for July!
