I am planning to head to Ohio this weekend to do a little diving. I am thinking of diving Portage becuase I had heard from some local instructors that the conditions were great when they were there a week ago. Anyone interested?

Gilboa gilboa gilboa....

There is a free oxycheq wing demo going on Saturday at gilboa...

I will be there with my usual buddy's...they are going to dive a BP/W....they might not like it, but they're going to dive it.

Oh yeah...come to gilboa

You going to be there all weekend? Do you mind a party crasher?

do you really want me to tell you what happends to party crashers?

but yeah, we'll be there...let me know what time you and the wife plan on being therer....if she ain't coming, I know a couple of places we can stop by on the way back down south.....:wise:

I'm planning to head up Sat. morning, it's just a coincidence that Big-T and company will be there :) I'll probably land between 8-9 am. Anyone else coming up?

Big-T ...
If you'd like to drop by and say hi, we'll be down by the plane at the far shallow dock.
That's very near where UWI's tent/truck was last month and I presume they'll look to be in the same area although there's not as many OW students (only one class, I think) this time.

Big-T ...
We'll be sporting around in a '00 blue Honda accord, with clermont tags, there might be a green one of identical shape and size nearby as my brother is allegedly joining us too.
Due to some work schedules of some in my AOW group, our night dive is being moved to Saturday. I'll be up there by 9am if I can get away "on time" Saturday, but won't have a dive with the group until after 5pm.

I'm planning to camp and have planned a "tour" dive of about 35 minutes to see the tubes, tower, a truck, and tire chain. I'll have plenty of surface interval before my first dive with the class. Now I just need to find a dive buddy!

Here's the dive profile I've planned with PADI's "The Wheel"
Code:
-----+ +----
     | 40ft M | 15ft
     | | 3min
     | 90 15 |
     | +--------+
     | 50ft H | Truck/
     | | TireChain
     | 52 10 |
     | +--------+
     | 70ft C | Tower
     | |
     | 40 10 |
     +--------+
       Tubes

Depth PressureGroup
MaxTime(NDL) PlannedTime
I was very conservative on the depth and with my max air consumption rate from my OW cert. dives (25PSI/min at surface) this should use less than 2400psi.

Big-T ...
There is also going to be someone from KY joining our little enterage of divers as well.

(A later msg ID'd this someone as cstreu1026 [\b])

Hmm... sounds like your group might end up with an odd number. Let me know! I'm driving a red '98 volvo S70, warren county plate "AD REM" and will be looking for a campsite in the same general vicinity.

I think I might drop by the UW tent and say hey if you're there....maybe you can introduce me to some of the DMs/ instructors you guys will have there...
I'll keep an eye out for you (i.e., Big-T).

No no no .....I can't go if ber is going to be there....she might get all upset b/c I am envious of her multi-colored gear.....

Seriously though, is the hubby coming too, or you flyin solo in the mote-carlo?

It would be cool to show you the latest Big-t rig job in his cheapskate ideas to move closer to getting lead off his ridiculus looking belt.

Its looks as if I will be there in the 9-10AM range. It should be about a 3 hour drive for me so it will probably be moer around 10AM. I am definitely hoping to meet up with everyone. I am bringing my dive buddy, but she won't dive because she HATES the cold water. I think I screwed up when we went to Bonaire and Curacao for our honeymoon. Now she won't dive in anything less that 80 degree water.

Damn...I was thinking we were going to have a guys diving weekend....I guess it will be o.k. if she's happy to get us cold beer, and make us a little something to eat in-between dives...:D...I'm not even going to go down the road with Ber coming....that spells nothing but trouble....

Nuts to warm water I say...if it ain't cold dark and murky, I ain't interested.......at least that's what I keep telling myself.....

Seriously though, if you dive in the crap on a regular basis, the reefs you get to see are just that much more enjoyable....b/c it is 1 a wonderful change of pace, and 2, a whole hell of a lot easier dive to make.
