dennisg:What's the thing with this 1.6x magnification factor? Does that make my existing 105mm macro a 168mm macro? And my 20mm wide-angle a 32mm not-so-wide-angle? Doesn't that destroy the value of what the lenses are designed for on the standard SLR's?
Dennis
That's correct. This is one major weakness of the current crop of dSLR (beside D1s). wide angle becomes not so wide angle. This is one of the main reason that Nikon came out with 12-24mm and 10.5mm fisheye lens for its digital line.
Canon still has not done anything muich about it but I believe that Sigma has a 12-24mm lens for Canon.
