Bought a Zeagle Scout for travel and was wondering what were others using for weight with the rear weight pouches. I remember a guy in Bonaire who had two long lead weights he used for balance but he did not have the Scout, Bob are you reading this? Do you use regular lead weights?

And usually use soft weights in the weight pockets.

I was just in Bonaire with my Scout. I was happy with the ranger and decided the Scout would help me free up some room in my luggage. I was diving 4lbs total, 2 per side. The pockets will not hold much. Solid lead was no problem. I wish I had heeded some earlier advice - - cut up a plastic cup and use it along with the lead to encourage the weight to ride closer to your shoulders. Seems like the weight pockets are way too low, and it creates some interesting trim issues. Next time I will have the weight up higher.

I use mine for travel. I have used both hard and soft weights in the pouches and both seem to work fine. I have found that more than about 10 lbs (5+5) tends to make me want to turtle so if you need more than that, you may want to use a weight belt.

Kevink-- glad someone has read my advise :D

Thanks Never thought about how the weights low would affect trim/balance, but now you got me thinking. As I said I just got it and will try it out in Utila in 25 days yippee! May try to make something else to keep the weight higher. I may try to make a rectangle out of aircraft aluminum, light, will last for awhile and will be free. Any way still bringing the bp&wings. But still open to other suggestions. Thanks Again.
