Hop Devil:
Concern about the lengh of bends. If you're 6' -5" or 5'-6" are the bends still supposed to line up with the curvature of the spine? Maybe its only for people that are exactly 5'-9" or they sell different sizes?
I was concerned about this when I made the first plate because I made it for myself. I'm 6'4" with a 34 inch waist so that's what I fit it to. But believe it or not the plate actually fits a very wide variety of people from about 5'6" up to 6'6". The really small people have trouble with it in the length so depending on how sales go I am planning to produce a smaller version.
With the fit, the top curve is not as much an issue as the side curves. But unless you are 350 + pounds with a tractor tire for a waist or have a waist the size of a folgers can the standard model seems to fit everyone that's tried it pretty darn good. Remember that your spine moves around and bends when you dive so the shape of the plate is only an approximate of what your body shape is at any given time. There is a lot of leeway in the fit which is a nice surprise for me. I like it with a little "grip" in the waist personally. It gives the rig lateral support and a feeling that the thing is really glued to my body.
