I am looking at getting a new BC and all you BP/W zealots have me sold on that set up vs a traditional BC. I really like the look and functionality of the Freedom Plate since I only dive singles (and a large Faber 105 at that).

I am also considering a TransPac/Venture set up too, since I can buy a virtually unused one for $299 locally.

Thanks in advance.

Freedom plate...it sounds like a feminine product...

There were some posts here somewhere when the plate was being developed and trialed. I don't recall it being named back then, so might be challenging to find on a search. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Let me just chime in here, since I've been looking at Eric's plate as well and am also curious to hear any feedback from independent users of this rig. It's a new plate and as such hasn't yet stood the test of time, but I'm a big fan of supporting innovation despite potential "new-product" bugs or kinks as long as those bugs or kinks don't negatively impact safety considerations. I know Eric has done some demos. Anyone that has been to these get-togethers have any feedback?

I have one and absolutely love it!!!! I think it is more comfortable than the other more traditional plates.

Concern about the lengh of bends. If you're 6' -5" or 5'-6" are the bends still supposed to line up with the curvature of the spine? Maybe its only for people that are exactly 5'-9" or they sell different sizes?
