..... I've been diving a pair of the 'regular' (Yellow) Apollo Bio Fins and have been VERY happy with them...but I just took delivery (Thanks Scubatoys!) of a pair of the Apollo Bio Fins "XT" version.......the duro on the Yellow ones is about '70', and the 'duro' on the "XT's" is '75'. (duro=hardness of the rubber compound). I bought the "XT's" specifically for the extra firmness, as I frequently dive the Texas Flower Gardens and, this December, will be diving the Socorro Islands/Nautilus Explorer...and I thought it would be a good idea to get the "XT's" for their extra 'horsepower' since my trips place a premium on dealing with strong currents.
I haven't had a chance to dive them, but even out of the box, comparing them with my Yellow regular Bio Fins, I was surprised at how much different they felt with respect to firmness.....a change from '70' to '75' seemed minimal on paper, but they feel surprisingly firmer !
...anyone out there use or have an opinion on the "XT's"...pros/cons ?
Thanks!
Karl
