I have a Canon SD1000, and will be getting the Canon housing unit for it soon. (The housing for the RebelXti just won't fit into the budget right now!)

Wondering if anyone here has taking underwater shots with the above mentioned set-up... post pics if you have them!

Also, is Canon the only good option for a housing unit? I've seen some other cheap alternatives but I'm not sure if I'd trust them...

Cheers,

Getting the Canon housing is a no-brainer... it's cheap, it's rated to depth, and everybody generally loves them.

I did my shooting with a Canon P/S last year (SD550), and I upgraded to a SD870IS this year...

Here's some pics, yes my color balance / corrections suck!

I did a set of photos with a Canon SD800is and have been quite pleased - not the best photos (but, I'm learning how to photo underwater still - some have been color corrected, some not) I did all these photos with the "underwater" settings - which I will never use again. I will just use the standard settings, then correct in Photoshop later.
