I have had my Zeagle Ranger since 1997 and the BC says it will handle doubles if you get the bands that hold the mesh against the tank bands. OK, I understand and get this.

But has anyone done it in here?

Knowing that many doubles use backplate systems I wonder how well the BC will carry the weight of lets says two steel 108's. Anyone have any experience with this?

Jim

I'm curious about that as well (I'm diving an Aeris XT) I've read that both BC's are supposed to be able to handle doubles...

Not sure how with a plastic backplate???

I have seen a Ranger with two AL 80's, my buddy dove it. He complained it was shifting around a lot, but it was do-able. I would look into using your Ranger wing with a BP and harness if you are looking to try doubles with minimal investment.

You know the nearer your destination, the more you slip sliding away"

(With thanks to S&G)

Those bands don't provide a positive connection to your double tanks. The cool thing about Z is they have 2 cam bands for singles but you will really want a BP to bolt the doubles to.

As they say my 2c

Well, you can bolt doubles through the grommets just like a backplate. The sliding was from the looseness of the harness.

Thanks all, this is what I wanted to hear and what I was thinking myself. Always good to know someone else has already gone through it!

one last question, in moving to a harness any recommendations as to bladder size? i want enough lift with doubles but still remain streamline enough that I dont have much drag.

Jim

No less than the Ranger 45lb wing..my $.02.

thanks carpenter
