What's your experience level?

You might look into a class from Performance Freediving. It will involve travel, but be so worth it, their classes are superb.

Here's a review: Performance Freediving Intermediate Class

Her's their schedule: PFI Schedule

Hope this helps!

All the best, James

Fireant,
Call and talk to Mike Cryer at Hydrosports Scuba in Lake Jackson. They dont have a feediving class as of yet but I think his wife Michelle is working on it. She freedives and spearfishes on the rigs out in the Gulf and is pretty good at it. If anything they could get you started in the right direction, plus they have mammoth lake in their backyard that has vis from 5-20 ft and depth to 60 ft in some parts. It would be a good place to start practicing. I recently took Mike's underwater hunting class and went on a trip with him and both he and his son Jake freedove during parts of the trip, it got me real interested into getting more into freediving off the rigs. They are very experienced in all aspects of watersports. I very much recomend them for anyone looking to pursue freediving or scuba and spearfishing. I hope this helps.

John
