I'm trying to set up a NAUI sanctioned gas blender class. covers o2 cleaning, oxygen handling and trimix blending. The class will probably be held in the Ventura area. I need 2 more people minimum for this class to happen. The class SHOULD be $175.

I just finished my DSAT Blending class, and my booster arrives this week. Hope you get a full class.

Depending on date and time, I would be interested.

Hey guys, in case you aren't aware...
GUE Tech 1 teaches gas blending for our standard mixes, EAN 50, 32%, 30/30, 21/35, 18/45 etc., its really very simple. For O2 cleaning and handling, I'd recommend the Oxyhacker manual.

Edit: Oops.. sorry guys, I thought I was posting in the SoCal DIR forum, just ignore me.

Chris,

Thank you for the info...

I might be down for it too, if I ever learn to dive, and also if Kevfin doesn't make it.

Billy

Do I know you?

Don't know about the NAUI, but my PADI Rec/Tec Gas Blender course certifies one to VIP and O2 clean tanks and valves.

$150 for the course. I have 10 tanks. At the delightful cost of about $50 per tank per year for O2 cleaning and VIP, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion to take the course, buy the materials and stickers and do it myself.

Fortunately, where I work I get to pick up "scrapped" equipment components.

I built a tank tumbler for less than $50 and a tank rinsing and drying stand for nothing.

Hahaha!

What exactly does this class accomplish? Do you need to be Naui Certified or have a nitrox cert? Do you get a certification upon completion of the class and what does that enable you to do?

Thanks

Billy
Due to your icon... I have a hard time telling if your serious or joking... Ill assume youre serious (sorry don't know you well enough) No you do not need to be NAUI certified, it is a NAUI sanctioned class though. You do not need a nitrox cert, it is a class teaching you the proper ways to prepare equipment for mixing nitrox, trimix, or any other mixed gas. You do get a card I suppose...I guess you can frame it on your wall or maybe show it to a dive shop owner in hopes he'll hire you? or you can use the knowledge to take care of you equipment and mix your own gas safely...
