I came this wetsuit in a diveshop. It is a 3/2mm titanium super stretch full length wetsuit. It had a pretty good fit and they had a pretty good price on it ($100).

But upon closer inspection, I see a few things missing that is in the latest suits like glideskin seals in the neck, wrist and ankle, key holder, adjustable collar. Even closer inspection revealed plastic YKK zipper instead of the rachet metal type, logo that seems to crack when fabric is stretched. Plus it being made in USA. Nothing wrong with that, except for the fact that when most suits mfg moved overseas due to lower labor cost, what are they cutting back in order to keep the suits made here in the US.

I then hear from some people that neoprene is not neoprene, that some gets crushed easier and is not suitable for underwater.

Anyway, does anyone know anything about this brand? Is it OEM to those no-name brands in those ultra-cheap shops? Should I keep on looking at different wetsuits?

Thanks

Where are you located?

I have an Ocean-Tec 7mm semi-dry wetsuit that was made in Australia, but it was a small private operation that basically made them for a couple of local dive shops. It's holding up okay and is very warm, but Ocean-Tec is a fairly generic sounding name, and it's quite feasible that there are two unrelated Ocean-Tec companies. I've had a couple of small rips in the suit, but that's more user-error than a fault of the suit.

Do a search on Google - Ocean Tec is a Florida based wetsuit manufacturer. Unrelated to my Ocean-Tec wetsuit.
