Can't find too much about this setup really. Wondering if anyone has one, or has tried one, or has another good suggestion for a travel BPW? I have a Hollis elite setup with a SS backplate and 35# wing, which seems excessive for travel..

I have two ST Elite System version, one with steel BP and one with AL BP. They are excellent BCs, and there are no issues with them. You have to spend time adjusting the shoulder straps to fit your body, but it is a non-issue once adjusted properly with D-rings in a good place. I use a 35-lb wing on both. I added weight pockets to the plate under the wing, and I also have the Hollis weight pockets on the waist belt.

I looked at the L.T.S. Light Travel System, but as far as I know, it doesn't have a crotch strap, which I need since I regularly use a DPV when diving. I'd love to hear feedback from people who use it.

You don't find it awkward to travel with the elite? I too have the ditchable weight pockets and trim pockets, set up for cold water. Actually love it, which is part of the reason I was looking at the LTS for travel.. much lighter and fairly cheap as far as BCD go.

Not really, especially with the AL version. The last time I traveled for diving, I traveled with two BCs: the Hollis Elite and the Scubapro SeaHawk 2. I was attending a UW photo competition and had at least two of everything, down to my snorkel, lol.

I routinely travel with a Halcyon SS plate and 30# Eclipse.

I was looking at that set up as well and couldn't really get any good feedback. I ended up going with the Dive Rite Hydro Lite and I'm really happy with it, about 20 dives so far in warm water. It's lightweight and really comfortable. They look very similar to each other.

Thanks for the input. This post is a month old and I've been looking at everything the whole time - I think I've come to the same conclusion as you, and will likely get the hydrolite as well

Great. I really like it and it packs nice and small for travel.
