Take lots of rubber! If you guys haven't been diving in San Carlos in March, be sure to take plenty of rubber, 6-7mm or dry suit, gloves and hood. You'll have some great diving but it will be 55-56 degrees. I will be heading down mid-May for seven weeks and watching the water temp go up from 70 to 83. Unfortunately the nudis die out, and the guitarfish and big rays head for deeper cooler water, but the water is ohhh sooo much warmer. If you want really toasty water, July through early Oct. will provide 85-90 degree water, but the air and humidity are insufferable. Be S.A.F.E.

Who needs a 6-7mm? I've got a 7-8mm semi-dry. Works great in Southern Cali too!

After living in the snow and cold of the mountains of Colorado for thirty years, the summer-fall heat and humidity of the Sea of Cortez feel pretty dang good!

I've never seen it 55-56 degrees in March or any other month. I was there last weekend and it was to 61 degrees, which is what I also recorded in December. The coldest temperature I've ever seen there, and I dive year round, was 58 degrees and that was mid-February. I never wear more than a 5 mm there, with a hood in December-February. By March, I'm in a 3 mm, and a 1 mm from April through October.

I'll be headed back down in mid-April, avoiding Semana Loca. Wish I could go down this month, but too much going on here. At least my boat is running once again! Yay!

Last sept and October I saw 2 different species of nudis in 80+ degree water.

It's warming up down there! Their daytime highs were 87 and 88 degrees this weekend. It was only 70 to 79 degrees when I was there a week ago.
