Anyone going day after Thanksgiving?

I'm trying to arrange a trip with a buddy of mine on Friday 11/26. I see there are several boats going out that say.

Who has tried this? Did you find it difficult diving the day after Thanksgiving? I don't think I will be eating to excess, and probably going moderate on the wine...

Any suggestions on boats? We are based in OC, and while it might be cool to dive a boat going to Anacapa, I don't see that happening this time, because it would involve getting up too early in the morning, or leaving the night of Thanksgiving.

I looking to go out on Friday as I have done in the past....(don't want to fight the crowds on "black Friday").... either the dive park @ Avalon or jumping on a boat. Sundiver Express is doing a 3 dive that day. Dive Boat Sundiver It's a good fast small boat out of Long Beach with great customer service. Or a kick back day in Avalon away from the shopping crowds. Let me know where you end up so we just might be on the same trip.

I used to go out on both Friday AND Saturday...when I was in SoCal, that is.

BTW, the water pressure does wonder in helping you getting rid of the excessive food consumption.

Who's going out on Friday and Saturday? I'm going to be in town for Thanksgiving weekend and I would love to hook up with my dive buddies for some good old fashion fun.

garyw90, I'm going on the Peace boat on Friday. For $100 you'd get a boat with a great crew and mean grubs plus a hot tub.

I'm possibly going out on the Spectre on Saturday but not sure yet.

Idaho is a wee bit cold for diving unless one owns a drysuit and have equipment rigged up for ice diving. So I'm headin' towards warmer climes and squeeze in a little extra something-something.

We've decided to go out on the Sundiver Express on Friday. Hope I'll see some of you on there! It'll be a great way to work off the previous night's dinner.

I think that I'll hit up the Peace boat for Friday. It's rare that I can get to go on the Peace boat for a one-day trip, especially nowadays when I'm not in SoCal any more.

I may hit up the Sundiver Express for Saturday.

garyw90, looks like I will be heading out to Avalon Friday late morning thru' the evening so we can get a night dive in at the park. (Maybe grab a bug in the park Just joking Dr. Bill I don't even hunt!) If the plans fall apart, I will jump on the Sundiver. Hope to meet in person one of these days. And HT...one of these days we will have to be on the "same boat" again...Last time was over 2 years ago and that was on the Peace.
Anyone else has a Friday get-away plan?

i'll be diving the coronado islands with marissa dive charters out of san diego. its a 3 tank dive leaving 6am on the 26th. anyone else on it too?
