Anyone ever put bait cups out?

I used to work on a crab boat, and the bait squid kept em coming for about a week. I'm gonna try to make something, the only problem I see is another diver showing up and getting rid of it.

I'm still wondering how to harness someting down to keep the seals from towing it off. Maybe drill a couple holes in the container and tie it on to cement blocks
