Hi All,

I have never dove Spring Mill Pond at night. (Here come the jokes about the vis being so poor that ALL dives there are night dives) :D I called Craig at Sea The World inquiring about a dive next Wednesday. He was unsure if the dive shop was going to specifically head up a dive that week. I wondered if there was any interest by locals? It would be great to meet some of you. Maybe we could even schedule a follow up meeting for a few refreshments after the dive. Anyone interested?

After posting this thread it dawned on me that I have now begun my Wednesday night golf league. As such I will not be able to attend any Wednesday night dives until September. I guess others could still get together. But I officially count this as a big mark on my idiot stick. :D

Is golf more important than diving? I might be interested in a Wednesday night dive there. I haven't been to Spring Mill pond yet.

Hey TB,

Well of course I assume the majority of the people on this board would favor diving over golf. I think there may be the opposite result if the same question were posted on my golfing info board. The bottom line regarding my golf league is that is a pre-existing 16 week commitment that myself and my golf partner have agreed upon. It's just one night each week when I can't dive. If you wish to go please contact Craig at "Sea The World" in Farmington Hills. I think the regular Wednesday night dives at Spring Mill Pond (In The Island Lake Recreation Area) will begin next week. Once they start they will continue until late September. (or even later depending on attendance) Give him a call. Have fun diving.

Craig told me that they will begin their regular Wednesday night dives at Spring Mill Pond on June 7. FYI.

Well, these weekly outings are off to a shaky start. Not one single person from that dive shop showed up at the pond this week, either. And this was supposed to be their trip! I called the shop and he said they were busy and didn't know who was going to go. Luckily stsiddall did show up (He's a scubaboarder, not from that shop) and we had an OK dive. I wouldn't mind doing some local after-work dives on a weekly basis, but I don't know about this.

From what I saw of the place never dove it just looked at it. It doesnt appear to be worth the drive down there for me to dive in. I have neighbors with bigger ponds in there yard.

Yeah, the diving is not that great there, but it's better than not diving. It's a good thing Scott decided to go, or "not diving" is what I would have got! It's 50 miles each way for me. I probably owe him a beer!
