The batch ID is part of the serial number, it's on the outside of the box and inside the battery compartment of the camera itself.
For a Hero 3+ Black ir will look something like this (bold is the date ID).
H3B+B1013000****
Remember though, it doesn't mean you have a faulty camera just because it says 0813, 0913, 1013, 1113, etc. The later the number, the less chance but not defintive.
Buying new stock with an older batch ID is better than buying old stock with a newer batch ID.
As time goes on and certainly from 1113 it should be almost 100% certain that it is from new stock.
