Basic Training is one thing. That is a numbers game. Refinement comes later in your military career.
SpecOps? You damn well better have a thick skin and an ability to spell to become a warrior of that caliber.
I don't doubt that BJGOVE can spell, but his skin is definitely thin.
As an officer he will be held to a higher standard. Currently he is making excuses for his abilities based on his NCO status.
SpecOps will require an even higher standard for him, and then even higher as a SpecOps officer.
So will the first year of college. Professors are hard nosed and spelling counts; excuses are irrelevant.
Simply put, he wants to enter a world where excuses are unacceptable. He will learn to not make any excuses, and learn that mistakes are not excusable, if he makes it to the SpecOps world.
And in answer to the original question BJGOVE...Yes, there are military people on board. Good luck with anything that you do in college. Good luck with anything you do in the military. I hope to hell you ring out if you walk into Coronado or Little Creek and say what you said in your second post. I expect more of the SpecOps community than attitudes like that. After all, now You are protecting ME!
