I got really thirsty diving in Key Largo once, next time I took a Camel Back. It was nice to have a drink occasionally and my kids swam over for a sip once in a while too.

I tried drilling holes in a bike water bottle and using a plastic liner (produce bag). And tried baby bottles with liners and bottled water with the sports spout, but so far nothing beats the Camel Back bladder for having a nice sip of refreshing water while diving.

What do you use to wet your whistle underwater?

This is actually very interesting as I tend to get dehydrated quicker than most people. Seawater does not leak back into the bladder between sips? I assume you just have the bladder and hose sans backpack?

hey! I just bought one at Costco. I plan to try it...great idea. Does the beer stay carbonated at depth?

Catherine, come-on, we need to promote educated, responsible diving for the newer divers... make sure that they don't make the same mistake we do..

I have thought about it but can not figure out how to attach it to my rig. DSS is for doubles rig I am trying to find a to tuck it into the space made by the STA and wing.

if it's just the bladder, that might be hard to do, but if you have the backpack thing, maybe tighten the straps all the way down, then run a small bungee around the tank, or thread the cam straps through the cammal back harness straps, If you position it so there is nothing between the rubber grips on the cam straps and the tank(so you don't loose traction on the tank) I can't see it making the tank any less secure. How would you run the hose? maybe Velcro strapped the the regulator hose? I've been thinking about this too, I get bad Cotton mouth while diving sometimes(I've looked and the humidifier attachments for regulators, but I don't have my own yet, and I'm not sure that would corrode some internal component or something.....).
