Plan on taking wife out on boat on Saturday then diving on Sunday. Do not know what to expect the conditions will be like with these winds. High on Sunday also only 75 as forcasted now and 50/50 on rain. Winds will be the same all weekend long. I am just content strapping on my tank and BC, going down and taking a nap on the bottom if viz is bad.

If you care to take a chance let me know. Do be prepared for a rough wet ride out. Plan to leave from Ozona around 10:00 or so.

Of course I did not take wife out today, but the front should pass tonight and ok to go out on Sunday. Will be a tbit rough with 15mph winds, but doable. Let me know.

We went out this morning from Fort Desoto, It was windy as hell and the wave were quite big. Viz was next to Zero where we were..

Thanks for the report. I know today was aweful. The incoming front should have moved through by 10:00a.m. on Sunday. Viz might suck, but can at least get out even if only for stone crabs.

Did you say stone crabs! Are they in season? How do you catch them, just look in the rocks, and snag them? I have not harvested sea edibles before so... I must lean. My daughter, wife and I love all type of bounty from the sea.

Stone crab season is October 15th to May 15th. Just have a saltwater fishing license and a measuring device with a net bag. Wear gloves. They will get torn up quickly, so I just got some kevlar gloves. Just reach in the rocks and pull them out. they can not bite you until they are freed from the rock. Once you get them out, quickly grab the other claw with your other hand, hold ing both claws. Measure, take the bigggest and twist with a quick snap so it does not kill the crab. Just remember, if a crab does bite you, you get the last bite..lol
