I was just there last weekend. The entry is rocky (much like Folly Cove used to be), but once you get a little ways from shore its largely unchanged. Still a nice site, and the entry isn't as difficult as Folly Cove is.

Did sand ever leave??

I was at Old Garden Beach April 21st. As sandy as ever. Had real trouble unbuckling my fin straps when exiting water because sand got into quick-release buckles :)

this is OGB mid March....looked like this all the way to the shore line...

So are the rocks gone now?

it would be sweet if they are...

I'm pretty sure they'll remove them at some point Lewis...can't have the residents putting their chairs on top of rocks, now can we? ;)

I'm sorry, I don't know what I was thinking... actually having to trouble the nice neighborhood residents ;)

I'm pretty sure that the rocks have been there all along. I think what they'll need to do is to dredge up the sand that has washed out and bring it back up to cover the rocks again.

Thanks for all the comments.

Here's what things looked like this morning - May 4 at about 10:05AM. High tide this morning in Rockport was at 7:22AM, so getting towards mid-tide.

There are rocks.....but some sand too. It also seemed that the rocks were piled higher against the sea wall than previous years.

We didn't dive at OGB due to northeast winds (ended up at Folly), but it was good to do a quick drive-by.

Here is a quick video clip of OGB (click on image to play):
