I have been dying to do a seal dive but can't seem to find a boat running them on the week-ends. Fran only runs them during week-days though he does it a lot.

Do you guys know of any boat regularly going there on week-ends ?

Northeast Charter Boat will do 6 pack charters to Isle of Shoals leaving out of Portsmouth, NH. Capt's Bill and Debbie are very nice, knowledgable and accomodating. They can be reached at 603-235-5526 or www.northeastcharterboat.com

Our dive club uses them quite often.

What time of year are the seals around?
I heard only in late spring but it sounds like that is not the case.

The seal population on IOS is a year round colony.

I did 2 dives yesterday on the Isle of Shoals from the Lady Patricia. First dive at Duck Isl we saw plenty of seals, but they didn't swim around to play with us. Diving was still good though with plenty of lobsters and crabs to wiggle your fingers at. Lots of little bass swam close too. What looked like a filleted fish with its head on was being picked at by 4 big crabs and a small lobster. The crabs looked down right dainty as they picked out a little morsel and fed it into their mouths. Nice day for a boat ride too. Capt. Bill told us most weekends he takes folks out for fishing and ours was the only dive trip. Seems you have to get your reservation in early in the year.
