I have a 1-year plan to try and move out to Socal from Chicago. I'm interested in taking both the San Diego PD and San Diego Sheriff tests in December. Looking for anyone that can give me any tips or advice. I understand the SDPD test is "first come first serve", any idea how early people are lining up? I'm currently a career firefighter and I've built up a decent fire resume'. Police training is limited to working as a Arson Investigator in Chicago (private investigator) on the side. I plan on testing for both sides (police and fire) and seeing who takes me first. Any tips or advice are appreciated. My girlfriend graduates with a Masters in Nursing in August of '10 and we'll be looking to move as soon as one of us finds a solid job. I also have a Paramedic license I plan on transferring to California before then. I'm really kicking myself in the ass for turning down the border patrol job I was offered in San Diego a few years ago :shakehead:
