A fellow marine conservationist friend brought this to my attention today. A kids adventure club in Bali has started a shark "rescue" program. They claim to use these pens to "rehabilitate" the sharks for several months before releasing them. (Rehabilitate from what, I am not sure) In the wild black tips are docile and timid and have never bothered divers. Though most of these are juveniles, there is at least one intermediate, and considering the restrictive size of the pen and that black tips do have documented "attacks" well into the double digits, is tossing the kids in there with them wise? The other issue is whether buying live sharks from fisherman is "rescuing" them, or simply creating more of a market for them. Comments appreciated.

I recommend contacting David Schiffman at Southern Fried Science. David is the #1 online-accessible shark expert out there. Heh, your inquiry may warrant enough attention for a blog.
