There’s surprisingly only one thread on here about these fins. I haven’t seen a lot about them on line. No videos on YouTube and only a few shorts on Instagram. Has anyone used these? What’s your consensus on this new design? For reference: Halcyon Dive Systems

Those dudes tend to to excel and that's great so why not , they chose monprene over rubber and that's great too

I borrowed a pair for a shore dive, in a wetsuit, used without the weight inserts. They worked absolutely fine for all the kicks, from memory they were particularly good for a very tidy little minimum size mod flutter. Maximum power from a big frog kick was perhaps a smidge less than Jets, but there wouldn't be much in it.

Without the weight inserts, they are seriously light out of the water - lighter than Slipstreams; they'd be very easy to travel with. If I was in the market for two pairs of fins - one heavy/drysuit use and one light/wetsuit use - I'd consider a pair of these to cover both use cases.

May I ask how the stiffness of these fins compares to Jetfins or Deep6? I’m currently using Deep6 and wondering how the feel would differ.

Also, I noticed the spring strap doesn’t seem to have a pull tab
is it difficult to put them on or take them off?

Maybe a tiny bit less stiff than regular Jets but they moved me around just fine. I've never seen Deep6 fins so I can't compare.

It's not a particularly penetrating review, sorry, because - from the perspective of someone with well over a thousand dives in Jets - I just put them on my feet and they worked. Certainly better than your average plastic fin or (shudder) split fin.

I didn't use the weight inserts, so one potential difference I can't comment on is any difference to Jets in the feeling of centre of mass/moment of inertia when weighted.

Neither my Jets nor my Slipstreams have a tab so I didn't notice any difficulty taking them on or off.

I'd personally cut off any pull tab anyway - why use nice sleek spring straps and then add an extra line entanglement point to them?

First impressions review conclusion, if you want one: very close to all of the power and control of classic Jetfins, with the option of being slightly lighter even than Slipstreams. Thumbs up.
