Dives we liked that were more interesting:

Playa Kalki/Alice in Wonderland - IMO one of the best shore dives.
Playa Lagun
Playa Jeremi
Porto Mari
Varsenbaai
Tugboat

Watamula is about the best boat dive.

I don't have a favorite operator since we rented locally wherever we went. Good options are Go West Diving (Westpunt area), Porto Mari Watersports(Porto Mari) or Discover Diving(Playa Lagun - get tanks there for Jeremi also) Varsenbaai is Trunk Divers and there's no diveop at the Tugboat since it closed. One of the Ocean Encounters shops is probably your nearest option there - there's one at the Seaquarium or farther east around the bay at Santa Barbara. If you're solo, you're not there...;)

There's also the Dive Bus if you want to do any escorted dives. Or dive their site (Pierbaai) Suzy and Mark are good sources of info about other sites also. She spent about 20mins. describing sites on a map even after we'd figured out our schedules wouldn't mesh.

Difference between Curacao and Bonaire is that most of the sites are a short drive in from the main road - esp. on the west side. Get a good map (or a GPS) since there's a noticeable lack of street signs once you leave town.

If you compare the names in light blue here: Curacao Map - Map of Curacao with Scuba Shore Diving Site Listing for: Curacao, ABC Islands you can get a sense of where many of them are. We also used a Franko's map IIRC.

It depends so much on what you are looking for and where you plan on staying. We have been out there 3 times now and always stay on the quiet west end of the island; the Westpunt area. Not much to do out that way except dive; a few restaurants but not much nightlife if that is what you are looking for. All West Apartments is a great choice for a good package with room, truck and diving; both boat and shore. Lots of really nice shore dives. Some of our favorites are Lagun, Playa Jeremy, Alice in Wonderland, Sunset Waters (the resort is closed but the dive is nice).

We recently returned from 2 weeks at Marazul Dive Resort near Westpunt. It is not a "resort" in the true sense of the word, nor does it have a dive shop on site. Rather it is a collection of privately owned condo's, most of which are waterfront. It is a perfect place to stay it you like to have your own self contained apartment; very secure as the property access is gated. The view is lovely and the sunsets stunning. You do need to drive a few minutes to access most of the restaurants in the area with the exception of Rancho El Sobrino which is right next door. If you like to cook in, we did most of our grocery shopping in Willemsted, but were certainly able to get groceries at the stores in Barber and Terra Cora. Most of the units have charcoal barbecures to use..... and if you like eating fish, you can buy it right from the fishermen as they come in the cove at Playa Grandi, literally just a couple of minutes down the road you can see it from the front of the condo.

Marazul has a great house reef you access from stairs cut into the rock. It does require a little effort going up and down but well worth the workout.

We did the majority of our diving with Go West (both tank rentals for shore diving and boat diving with them), an excellent dive operator. I highly recommend the Thursday afternoon Lionfish hunt and dinner.
We also rented tanks from the dive shops at Pureto Mari, Cas Abou and Playa Langun. All of these operators were very helpful and economical to rent tanks from.

Enjoy your trip!
