Hey,
I have lived in MA all of my life and have been certified for 4 years. I have done mostly tropical diving and have a thrist for more. Does anybody have any reccomendations of where i can dive locally. I want to stay active with my diving and i hear there is a lot to see up here.

Anybody have any reccomendations? :11ztongue

The easiest way is to hook up with some of the organized shore dives; until you get a feel for the temp, and then you can expand out to some of the charter boats. I know Cape Ann Divers has a shore program as well do a few other shops. I've never partaken however.

Another option is a local club. There are a few in the area depending on where abouts you are located. I'd recommend MetroWest Dive Club; I, and a few of the other active folks here, are members. They do a shore program at 8:00am every saturday, 52 weeks a year. [10am after the clocks are rolled back]. The club meets on the second and 4th tuesday of the month in Natick, information on that is available on the website [and feel free to PM me with questions]

And of course there are many folks here that can show you around to the local hangouts. If you've only done tropical diving; you'll definately need a cold water wetsuit; if not a drysuit. [bottom temps last weekend were 39 degrees!]

There's also the New England Aquarium Dive Club, www.neadc.org. There's no pressure join if you want to go on any shore dive. But if you join, you'll have a chance to win the monthly raffle to dive the Aquairum's giant ocean tank!
