m looking at a trip to truk lagoon in the next 6-8 months and wish to find some recent reviews of the Thorfinn.

Ive read a vast array of reviews that range in the worst case scariest possible experience to good ones. I really am not sure who to trust, what feels right, and where I can get real advice.

I dont need luxury, I dont need internet access and fluffy pillows. I do however want to know I will be getting in as many dives possible and there is safe equipment that is used to fill the tanks, etc. ( Ive read on more than one occasion that the air taste / smells "oily" and this was not addressed).

Their website looks good but when their facebook is full of pictures and they are the only one "liking" the pictures they post, it just feels fishy.

Any reviews? REAL reviews?

I can tell you that the Truk Odyssea is a top notch liveaboard, NITROX is right on, they have a CO monitor in line mounted on the dive deck bulkhead, dive right on the wrecks from the mothership, food is so-so.
The Thorfinn stays anchored right off of Blue Lagoon, uses small boats to travel to the wrecks, just like Blue Lagoon, food at Blue Lagoon was very good, heard Thorfinn not so much. It would depend on what you want to spend.

Rofl,

just got back from 2 weeks on the Thorfinn, I did 68 dives and was offered 5 different dives a day on 5 different wrecks, if what you say in your post is what you are looking for? look no further, these guys rock. You can eat sleep and dive which is what I went for. Many of the negative comments you read are bogus or nefarious at best, great, safe, operation I would recommend to my closest friend!
