I have a Sea Quest balance now and it is one of the best bc's I"ve ever owned. I'm thinking about going to a tech set-up I want to keep it in the Sea Quest family, they are doing a damn good job I see no reasan to change companies. I would like to see how the majority of my backinflatedbrothers feel about the BLACK DIAMOND or if they have heard the pro's and con's if any.

For reference, here's SeaQuest's product site: http://www.sea-quest.com/products/black_diamond_p2.html

Personally, I think it's much better than most BCs out there, but it still has a lot of "features" I'd rathert do without. IMHO, if you really want get a tech setup, there's no substitute for the simplicity, reliability, and scalability of a backplate and wing. As far as I can tell, the Black Diamond doesn't improve on that design.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like SeaQuest makes that type of gear... just more robust versions of recreational stuff.

I aint gonna sit here and defend it thats why I'm asking in the first place. You are right Sea quest doesn't offer a bp/w I guess they left it up to Dacor and Diverite.
SQ/bc's are actualy pretty low profile and if I'm not mistaken I think the diamond is pretty similar to a bp/w set up. zippered bladder and everything but I'm not 100% sure.

I think they are running around the 500 to 600 range.
