I need a place to dive in VA and NC. I am brining all my gear from Hawaii with exception of weights and tanks of course. I will am Flying in to VA Beach on Saturday and will be there until the 24th. Then I am heading out to North Carolina for 2 weeks. Any suggestions on dive shops or charters out there?

Don't fly all the way here and just dive quarries. Lake Rawlings is nice but the ocean is much much better.

Depending on where in NC you are, both Discovery Diving and Diver Down in Moorehead City are excellent and the wreck diving is world class. There are other nearby dive ops that I've heard good things about.

Aquatic Safaris in Wilmington, NC is farther south but also a good choice.

I've heard good things about Lynnhaven Scuba in Virginia Beach, but haven't dove with them yet.

Have fun.

Wow I wish I knew you were coming, I have family coming in town this weekend, but maybe I can get out Sunday (If I am real nice & lucky), & next weekend I will be in up state NY diving Lake Erie.
Lynnhaven http://www.ldcscuba.com/ is a good op, but diving here is not quite like Hawaii. They have a nice boat & I have been out with them a lot.
Dive Quarters http://www.divequarters.com/ also is a good op, but they charter a smaller boat & only take 6 divers, so they fill up fast. They also tend to run to some of the deeper more advanced wrecks. I also have been out with them a lot.
I seem to be in the minority who really enjoy diving in Va. Beach.
