Any ifno on Oly sp-500 ?

I was trying to source a 7070 and one of the distributors recommended the sp-500 as a replacement. It doesn't yet have an oly housing but the spec's looked interesting. Wondering if any of the more experienced folks have any thoughts to share on this camera. Thanks,

I saw the sp-500 at a local big box store. I liked the fact that it had a 10x optical zoom. But... darn you Olympus, why no housing? only the new sp-350/310 has a housing. 8megapixel, but only a 3x optical zoom.

just saw on Ikelite's web site that they will have a housing available for the SP-500 in December. They are not showing a price.

emailed Ikelite as to a price for the housing... their reply was:
MSRP for the #6132.50 (the housing for the sp-500), $ 500.00.
