Anyone follow college hockey enough to want to get an NCAA Hockey Championship pool going? There isn't a site for one, so it will have to be makeshift. I saw the pairings show yesterday, so I can provide the matchups.

Jordan Tootoo must have blackmail photos of various referees, or even Colin Campbell. This guy should have been nailed a long time ago for his cheap shots.

Anyone catch the Habs-Leafs game (Vtdiver2, I know you did)? That was a fun one...much better than the Wings-Canucks game that followed. I would have loved to have been at that Habs game. What an atmosphere, as usual. Someday, I will get to the Bell Centre for a game rather than walking around the building in the summertime!
Yeah, I saw the game...watched in an Irish pub, drinking car bombs and listening to Great Big Sea, the Irish Rovers and a bunch of other Newfie/Irish bands. Loved the game, but it cost me a little money. When Halak stoned Tucker in OT, I jumped up and yelled "YES!!!!!!!!!! I got next round" to which my lovely bride-to-be slapped me up beside the head :D It's Monday night and I'm still nursing the hangover. God I love St Paddy's Day.
Speaking of St Paddy's day, anyone remember the game where Patrick Roy became St Paddy to Montreal fans everywhere? I was at the game at the Forum. Patrick Roy was in the hospital with Apendicitis, and the Habs were meeting the Bruins in the first round of the playoffs. He had already miswed 2 games due to being in the hospital. We were standing outside the Texas ( a restuarant on St Catherine's St where old time Habs players and CBC execs used to go after the games) when a taxi comes up out of the alleyway. The driver leans out his window and yells "Patrick Roy is back". You should have heard the buzz. Scalper tickets probably doubled in price.
We had SRO tickets, and had just gotten a beer and made it to the concrete wall behind the nosebleed seats, and were watching the Bruins warm up. All of a sudden, Roy comes out alone, and does 3 loops around the center ice face-off circle. The whole arena went nuts. One by one, the Bruins turned to see what has happening, and it was like they all were saying "damn, he's back"
Roy went on to play an amazing game, almost single handedly winning the game. Sadly the Habs lost it in 7, as Roy was so weak from the apendectomy.
Still, that game was probably the best I've ever witnessed. We all knew we were seeing something special that night. Maybe Huet can pull off something similar this year and get the Habs in the post season. I heard he practiced for the first time with the team and took shots from a couple of the guys for about 20 minutes.
RedWingDiver, anytime you want to fly in and catch a DET- MTL game at the Bell Centre, let me know, the first round's on me.

GOPHERS WIN!!!!!

Alright Vtdiver2 a.k.a C-Dawg,

The Habs and B's have a home at home series starting tonight. The B's pretty much took themselves out of the playoff race with their embarrassing game against Rangers (I finally lost the "who farted" look on my face this morning), and the Habs really need the four points on the table.

**Warning: Delusional Homer Alert!!!!**

The B's will take both games. They must take both games in regulation, or their crypt is sealed shut.

Has Samsonov played since he announce signing with the Habs "was a mistake"?

Any predictions for your Habs?

I'll say the Habs take all 4 points. The Habs are playing better since they've permanently benched Samsonov and started playing the Rookies more. Halak is in goal and has played well, and the team seems more confident with him in net. Having said that, the Bruins know they are out of it, and are able to play the spoiler, with no pressure on them. They'll take one of the games into OT but I have to have faith in my Habs. If Halak can stone the Leafs in OT like he did Sat, he'll do the same to the B's.

I just read the game report for the Habs/B's game. Sounds like it started slow and didn't get interesting til mid 2nd period. Well, my prediction for the home and home series is halfway there, and the Habs are now tied for 8th, and 2 pts out of 6th.
On another subject, I learned last night my favorite college player announced he's going pro. Torrey Mitchell, a junior at UVM is signing a 2 year deal with San Jose, and could be at their AHL team by Wednesday. Great player, reminds me of a Mike Keane or a Joe Sakic. Lots of heart and leadership, solid defensively, makes those around him play better, and only scores important goals when his team needs him. The Sharks are getting a great player and I want to wish him luck, and thank him for 3 great years of hockey at "the Gut". I'm going to miss watching him next year.

You guys are going against the WCHA? How many more years in a row do we have to win it to convince everyone?
